The purpose of Education in my opinion.

In today’s world, education is a factor of valuing a person. The better education you get, the more respect you get from the society. If you get more and more education, you get to be more and more valuable. Learning has became a main factor of choosing a person to be needed or unneeded. However, the reason why education exists is not to evaluate people, who are all needed, but to give them their right to live doing what they want to do.
If you read the novel, The Red Pony, of John Steinback, you can see that Jody, the kid of this story, dreams of riding a pony raised by his own hands. To do this, he learns from a hired-hand man named Bill at his father’s farm. Jody gets educated on how to raise a pony and all the stuff he needs to keep a farm. The education Jody gets is not to make him seem needed to the farm or not, but to allow him to be able to do what he dreams of.
Also, in the famous novel, Harry Potter, you can see the real purpose of learning by the main character, Harry Potter. Before Harry started learning magic, he did not have a real purpose of life. He did not know much about himself, nor his family, and had no friends. But after he knew who he really was and started going to magic school, he met people he wanted to love and protect and found a dream of defeating his ultimate enemy, Voldemont, and becoming a great magician, just like his father was. Being educated at his magic school allows him to achieve what he set as a final goal, not making him valuable or not.
Education has been important to every person, everywhere throughout human history. However, the purpose of it has changed in the wrong way. People should always cognize the true purpose of education. It is not given to people to make them seem needed. It is given to keep people living, allowing them to have a dream and being able to achieve it.

During our life time we meet a lot of people. We meet so many, that it is impossible to memorize every single person we meet. Among all those people we meet, there are always people that give influence on our lives. The influence we receive from others is very significant to our lives. To me, meeting a man gave me a dream of becoming a diplomat.
It was a time while I was concerned about what I will do in the future. I wanted to do a lot of things, but all those things were not excellent to become my dream. There was always something that I did not like about in every job I thought about. Then, a person named “Soo Yong Hyun” came to our school and gave a little lecture about being a global leader. (Our school was having a Global Leadership Training Program for students.) He had worked as a diplomat before and was a professor at the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade”. After his lecture, I new more about diplomats and found out that I really wanted to be one, and one like the man who gave us the lecture. Thanks to Mr. Soo, I found a goal of my future life.
If I never had met Mr. Soo, I would have never wanted to become a diplomat. The life of his own which he explained to us was a very attractive life to live; a life of traveling and meeting lots of people. I can say proudly that Mr. Soo was one of the people who gave me a big influence among all those innumerable people I met.

There is a life of one person that I can never forget. That man's life was filled with downfalls that seem to be impossible to overcome. However, that man did overcome his sufferings and eventually became the president of United States, and lived a victorious life. That man is Abraham Lincoln.
Since the day I finished the book about the life of president Lincoln, I always wanted to be a man like Lincoln. a man who gains victory of becoming a president who gives a big impact to the American history, and a man who is remembered throughout human history. His triumph was obtained despite the fact of having poor living conditions and failures that could make anyone give up what they are doing. But Lincoln did not yield to these realities and became the winner.
The living conditions of my own are surely better than that of what Lincoln had. Also, I used to get depressed by the smallest mistakes I do and regard them as failures. However, by the influence Lincoln gave me, I noticed that any failure cam become an opportunity by managing it yourself. Lincoln told me that nothing is failure except giving up, and victory comes to everyone.
